The top photo I took outside our hotel in Kitty Hawk, and the other I took when we went down to Cape Hatteras.
We had a little scare this weekend -- well, actually, the last few days.
My wife swallowed a fish bone that became lodged in her throat. Problem was, we couldn't tell if it had stayed there, but it felt like it had to her, so on Saturday, going on her third day without sleep, we finally broke down to see a doctor.
But here, because there are no walk-in clinics, we had to go to the emergency room, which meant three hours before we knew that she just had an inflamed throat and no fish bone.
At least she had insurance, and at least neither of us were too worse off for it all, though I could have done without the woman talking about how she sliced off the tip of her finger, or hearing other similar blood and gore stories. Doesn't do much for my stomach.
Glad my wife is fine. Today she got a lot of rest thanks to NiQuil, and I have peace of mind knowing she's feeling better, and better rested.
We've got many, many photos -- photos from our wedding photographer, my sister, my dear friend in Holland, Cassie and then the disposable cameras we had for people at our reception. There's probably others floating around somewhere, but here's three from Cassie's collection for now.
I'll share more photos, and memories from that day, and of married life, and just life in general. Like I said when I started this new setup, I've had a lot happen in the last few months, and in the last year and a half. It hasn't always been easy, but I love my life, and I love, with all my heart, my beautiful wife.
In the interim between the old and new blogs, I've started a Facebook page too. It's got some wedding photos and other stuff there. I have a few friends and my second cousin on there too, and thought it'd be something fun to try. Until I can get more wedding photos up, here's a picture of my wife taken the day after we got married at the bed and breakfast where we stayed.
Here's my new home for a new beginning, as I'm calling it.
The old home for my blog, http://onmyownpath.typepad.com/window_pain/ will still remain up for now, but that cost me money.
This one doesn't, so thus the switch.
I should be able to post more here, and have more time also.
As I go on, I'll update on married life (I love it, and her, so much!), and the things that have happened since I last blogged. I have loads of pictures to post as well.
I hope everyone is doing well.
The photo, which I'm thinking I'll use for the face of this place for now, is one I took on the 4th of July about 10 minutes from my new home, which I'll also talk more about as time rolls on. I panned this shot to help create the effect.
